Each month local web professionals converge on the Linn Area Community Credit Union Business Center in Cedar Rapids, IA to talk shop. We often share trade experiences and go review issues we’ve had over the past month. We also welcome the “Do It Yourself” crowd and business owners who are doing research before they hire a web professional. After all, who wants to spend money on a website that doesn’t have the features or flexibility that the business needs, or the integrated tools to help the website “be seen” online. During July’s Meetup (also see Facebook), one of the new faces in attendance this month was comparing WooCommerce with Shopify, not just price but overall flexibility along with ease of use. Currently, BuiltWith ranks WooCommerce as the most commonly used platform for stores in the top 1 million sites. With the recently announced 30% page load speed improvements that were just announced we don’t see this trend slowing down any time soon. It was so nice to see some new faces this month and we hope to see even more next month!
